UPDATED INFORMATION AS OF 9th MARCH 2017, RE BARBAGALLO RACEWAY

MCRCWA would like to inform our members and partners on the actual up-to-date position of the return to Barbagallo Raceway for bikes.

The unfortunate loss of ASBK was a commercial decision made by ASBK organisers to allow adequate time for teams and riders to prepare for the season.

With the current track license and permits being held up by our main governing bodies waiting for the two reports on track improvements and safety recommendations, ASBK waited for an extended period to allow our SCB and MA adequate time to assess these reports. Unfortunately, due to time restraints and logistical requirements, they had to make the decision- once again a commercial decision, to go to the NT.

Both MCRCWA along with the WASCC were strongly in favour of having the event here but without the recommendations of the two reports finalised, could not confirm the return to track this soon.

We are now awaiting the review and subsequent report from MA to formulate a return to track plan with the WASCC and get us moving forward.

It must be said that both MCRCWA and the WASCC are in a holding pattern and extremely positive and anxious, waiting on the two governing bodies MA and MWA in re licensing the track and issuing the permits for normal activity to resume at Barbagallo .

The Executive of the MCRCWA would like to apologise to its members for the perceived lack of information presented and involvement, but now having facts can look forward to working with all stakeholders to get us racing again
