To our Members,
As hopefully everyone can appreciate, the MCRCWA Executive is trying to be very diligent to ensure that 2019 is a year that see's the club's financial position improve.
Earlier this week we sent an email out to our members in regards to the upcoming Round 2 of the Interclub Series (April 7), to get actual participation estimates associated with it running in Collie on the short-track, based on some general conversations around the pit over the weekend.
From 43 respondents, we had 25 say that they would not attend round 2 on the Collie Short Track, and 18 said that they would.
Based on this, and knowing the minimum number of participants required to break even on the Sunday race day, and therefore the additional participants required to break even on the Saturday Coaching / Tuning day, the MCRCWA Executive have decided to cancel the two days down at Collie Motorplex on the 6 & 7 April.
I informed Collie Motorplex this morning. Obviously they were disappointed in the decision and frustrated at the reason, given they have yet to confirm a long track license inspection date, and hadn't committed to having the long track licensed at a specific time.
The 2 next scheduled Training / Tuning dates are on the 21st & 28th April at Barbagallo Raceway. You will be informed shortly when bookings are opened for the Tuning groups.
On behalf of the Executive and Competitions Committee we would truly like to thank all our members, especially those that participated at our first race day return to Barbagallo on the 10th March. It was great to see our returning Competitors and several new first time competitors, plus all our volunteer Officials and club supporters. Our Club Membership is growing, today we have reached 214 and we look forward to seeing more competitors return to the track for our June 2nd Hydroquip Round 1 State Championships.
