Hello MCRCWA members
I hope you all had a relaxing Easter weekend, and are staying healthy and safe.
What a weird time this is? Even when our track was shut we were still able to socialise with each other. I hope you are all doing okay, and don’t forget to reach out to the club and your fellow members if you need anything. MCRCWA is a fantastic club and our members are there to support each other both on and off the track.
Who’s bike is polished and immaculately prepared with all this spare time? Who’s shed is cleaned out and rearranged . . . at least once already? Who has found a new project to work on?
There isn’t much to report, but I wanted to give you a brief update on where we are at during this time.
At this point, all events have been cancelled or postponed however, we still have our future dates booked with the WASCC. As soon as it is deemed safe by the government and Motorcycling Australia, we will reapply for permits and get our riders back on track. Our championship may need to look a little different this year once the restrictions are removed, but decisions will be made once we have a clearer idea of when we will be allowed to resume racing and training events.
We continue to be in contact with MWA and MA for updates and will pass on any information as we receive it. As can be expected, with no racing, permits and reduced membership applications/renewals they have significantly reduced their operating times to work within the current climate, so please be patient if you are trying to contact them.
The committees will continue to work to keep the club in a stable financial position, streamlining processes and reducing overheads where possible. We are currently speaking to our accountant and getting feedback from MWA/MA to determine if any of the financial support packages could be accessed by the club, however it appears at this stage that we will be ineligible for most of them. We will continue to explore opportunities as new information is made available.
During the current time of social isolation, working from home, and general immobility, please take every opportunity to keep exercising, eat well, stay in regular communication with your friends and family, and provide support to any that may be finding it tough in these times. As a community we will get through this.
Until the next update,
